The Church of St. James is the most significant monument in Lhenice.

Culture

St. James has an early Gothic origin; the oldest records of the sanctuary date back to the 14th century. It was rebuilt in the Baroque style in the 1730s.

The Panský dům in Lhenice was built in the first half of the 17th century. Today, it is a renovated Renaissance manor house; originally, it was a fortress belonging to the lesser nobility.

The square in Lhenice was completely revitalized from 2015 to 2018. The restored Charles IV Fountain adorns the square; it is fully functional.

Nature

The Lhenice Stations of the Cross was established in the second half of the 19th century and consists of 14 stations. It is situated in a natural setting above the town, at the edge of the forest. In 2016, the Stations of the Cross, including the Chapel of the Virgin Mary, was completely reconstructed.

The Blanský les Protected Landscape Area extends into the Lhenice region; tourism there is possible mainly on marked hiking and cycling trails. Úvoz u Lhenic is an approximately 500-meter-long reconstructed section of the original Linecká Trail. It features tourist facilities and interactive educational elements for children.

In the wider regional surroundings of Lhenice, the Blanský les landscape includes protected mixed forests, flowering meadows, serpentinite and limestone habitats, as well as the Vltava Canyon.

Fruit has been cultivated in Lhenice for a long time, which is why the surrounding area has become known as the “Garden of South Bohemia.” The Pěstitelská pálenice a moštárna Karel Gregora in Lhenice processes stone fruits such as cherries, sour cherries and plums, as well as pome fruits such as apples and pears, into pure fruit juice without chemical preservatives.
