Tvrzice: Hotels and Accommodation

Usedlost čp. 7 is protected as a cultural monument of the Czech Republic and has an originally yellow-and-blue gable. It is attributed to the vernacular master builder Jakub Bursa and dates from his heyday between 1860 and 1862. This building therefore centres both on its protected monument status and its attribution to a master builder known by name.

No. 9 was formerly an inn and has since been converted. It is a preserved part of an originally large farmstead and comprises a residential building, an enclosing wall, and a representative gateway. This gateway is topped by a statue dated 1807 depicting a bearded old man in ecclesiastical attire with a papal tiara. The former use as an inn, the preserved part of the farmstead, and the individual structural elements thus belong to the same traditional farmstead complex.

No. 11 has a winged volute gable with a folk-style painting. Next to Farmstead No. 7, on a rise near the northern side of the village square, stands the former fortress. The former fortress, the associated plots of land, and the enclosing wall are protected. Two coats-of-arms plaques and an inscription plaque were later set into the south wall of the former fortress, which faces the village.

The buildings and the former fortress display various forms of historic design: gables with coloured or pictorial features, a gateway with a dated statue, and a fortified complex with plaques inserted at a later date. For the purposes of considering the village's history, these features can be viewed separately without equating the individual structures with one another.

In the wider regional surroundings of Tvrzice lies the ruin of the Radomysl Mediumwave Radio Mast. The ancient site of Chlumany is also located there. Both places extend the cultural context beyond the buildings and the former fortress in the village.
