The Kubova Huť ski resort has four downhill runs: one red and three blue; the red Střecha run is 600 metres long. It uses artificial snowmaking and lighting for evening skiing.

The Boubín lookout tower has been closed since 5 July 2025 due to a decision by structural engineers.

Nature and Trails

The Celtic educational trail “Keltská naučná stezka” begins in Kubova Huť and leads via Boubín and Mařský vrch to Věnec.

The ascent to Boubín passes old military bunkers and reaches the Bázumské louky meadows, where covered seating is available for a break. The shortest route to the summit of Boubín starts from Kubova Huť.

The “Around the Boubín Forest” hike begins in Kubova Huť on the blue hiking trail; the ascent to the lookout tower begins less than 5 kilometres from the car park. The route is 17.9 kilometres long and leads along forest paths.

The “Around the Boubín Forest” route reaches Boubínský rybník, which formerly served as a water reservoir for a timber-floating channel. At Boubínský rybník, there are benches and tables for resting and taking a break. The route also passes the Jilmová skála natural monument and then continues along the forest educational trail.

Culture

The Vimperk branch of the Golden Trail ran through Kubova Huť in the past.

The Golden Trail Museum in Kubova Huť opened to the public in early August 2024. It focuses on the history of the Golden Trail and also covers the history of glassmaking, forestry and nature conservation. The museum features local exhibits, videos, an artistically designed relief depicting the three branches of the Golden Trail, and informational texts. Visitors can use covered seating and a room suitable for concerts.
