The Volyňka forms the southern and western boundary of the Mutěnice municipal area; at the edge of Mutěnice, the Volyňka and the Smiradický Stream meet.

Nature

The local U MUTĚNIC biocentre comprises a natural-looking bed of the Volyňka, a wide strip of riverside vegetation and an adjacent meadow on the edge of Mutěnice. The local natural area also includes the 2-km-long LBK No. 514 biocorridor, “VOLYŇKA U MUTĚNIC”.

Cycling and Walking Routes

Cycle Route 1068 (Strakonice–Vacov) runs through the Mutěnice municipal area. Within the municipal area, this cycle route follows a Class III road. In Mutěnice, a walking route also follows the Volyňka to Strakonice.

Culture

The chapel in Mutěnice dates from the second half of the 19th century, was reconstructed in 2004–2005 and is decorated with a tiled Stations of the Cross.

A commemorative plaque for the gardener and pomologist Professor František Suchý is located at House No. 1. The large Mutěnický Mill was converted into a fez factory.
