The Chapel of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary stands in the village square of Přeštěnice. It was blessed on 15 August 1883; the first Mass was celebrated there on that day. The altarpiece was created by the academic painter Jan Heřman from Prague.

In the lower part of Přeštěnice, the Koutník Chapel stands next to House No. 35. It was built in 1933 in connection with the reported recovery of František Koutník's son. In Mlčkov, there is a wayside shrine chapel dedicated to Our Lady of Sepekov, dating from 1795. In Týnice, there is a chapel dedicated to Our Lady of Klášter, dating from 1884. The Chapel of the Holy Trinity in Držkrajov was built in its present form in 1907.

The first historical mention of Přeštěnice dates from 1379. Historically, the village belonged to the property of the Rožmberks, which was connected with Příběnice Castle. The recurring cultural events include the Open Air Music fest Přeštěnice, a regularly held festival of music groups. A Přeštěnická pouť, described as traditional, was also announced for 15 August 2026 in Přeštěnice.

Landscape

At 610 metres above sea level, Stráže is the highest hill in Přeštěnice. In clear weather, the view from Stráže extends as far as the distant Šumava Bohemian Forest. Přeštěnice has a foothill character; the village itself also offers a beautiful view.

Activities

Cycle route 1059 passes through the Přeštěnice area. Jezdecký klub Bártův dvůr Přeštěnice offers riding lessons for children and beginners under the guidance of experienced, licensed instructors. Every year, the club organises riding tournaments, including qualifying events for the Zlatá Podkova competition.
