History and culture

Pivkovice was probably founded in the 13th century; this is indicated by pottery fragments found in the village and its surroundings. Pottery fragments found in fields immediately behind Pivkovice also suggest that an earlier settlement may have been located somewhat higher than the present-day village.

The Hrad archaeological site is a two-part fortified settlement with an acropolis and a larger outer bailey area. A simple chapel with a small bell tower stands on the village square of Pivkovice along the main road. House No. 4 in Pivkovice has a gable in the style of Czech rural Baroque.

Within the municipality of Pivkovice, the Brnoušský potok stream has several other unnamed tributaries. In the immediate vicinity of Pivkovice are Radovec Hill [Bílsko - Netonice] and Jelení vrch Hill [Bavorov-Svinětice].
