Horusice: Hotels and accommodation

The Horusická blata nature reserve protects lakeshore vegetation with stands of reeds and mannagrass, willow thickets, transitional bogs, and sedge meadows on the western shore of Horusický rybník and in its flood zone. Horusický rybník is an important resting place for migratory waterfowl throughout the year, especially in spring and autumn.

The Veselské pískovny comprise five gravel lakes created by gravel extraction between 1952 and 1986, covering 240 hectares between Veselí nad Lužnicí, Horusice, and Vlkov in the Třeboňsko Protected Landscape Area and Biosphere Reserve. The Veselské pískovny can be reached by car, bicycle, and on foot.

The Veselské pískovny educational trail is an 8 km circular route along the shores of two lakes. It provides information about the local fauna and flora, sand and gravel extraction, and the geological conditions. Year-round visits to the Veselské pískovny educational trail are recommended. There is a refreshment stand at the Veselské pískovny, offering drinks and food depending on the weather.

The chapel on the village green in Horusice is a listed landmark in the centre of the settlement. Horusický rybník was created in 1512 on the Bukovský potok stream based on a design by Štěpánek Netolický; the village of Oslov previously stood on the site.
