Culture
Radenín Château developed from a medieval fortress that was expanded into a château in 1578 and became the center of the estate. Parts of the 14th-century fortification walls and a later eastern gate have been preserved in the former château grounds. In the cadastral area of Radenín, a plot belonging to the château grounds is also registered as a cultural monument under registration number 29319/3-4974.
In 1869, the château was remodelled into its present form. It is a two-wing, two-storey building with pilasters and semi-columns on one wing, a lunette frieze on the second floor, as well as Renaissance cross vaults, net-vaulted ceilings, and barrel vaults with lunettes on the ground floor.
The Church of St Margaret is a single-nave building with a five-sided closed presbytery and a tower on the north side. Its Renaissance cross vault dates from the second half of the 16th century, as does the Renaissance façade. It has been documented as a parish church since 1369 or 1384 and is located near a Gothic medieval fortress. The filial Church of St Margaret is essentially a Gothic building and is occasionally used for services.
The Baroque octagonal Chapel of St Barbara is located on the south side of the Church of St Margaret. It was built in 1732 with a dome and features Baroque paintings. In front of the Chapel of St John of Nepomuk, there is a stone statue of St Francis of Paola from 1717 on the left and a statue of St John of Nepomuk from 1727 on the right.
Radenín's historic sights include the former Jewish ghetto and the Jewish cemetery. The cemetery has been reconstructed, is well maintained, and is open to the public; around 300 gravestones have been preserved there.
Nature
Radenín Château Park is a romantic terraced park designed in the 19th century on a Baroque foundation, with the remains of an orangery. From the château, the park descends over five terraces and includes a viewpoint and a brick grotto. The château courtyard in Radenín has a fountain and terraces.
Transport
Bus route 220 runs from Tábor Bus Station via Radenín and Nuzbely to Chýnov.
