Culture

The Bošovice fortress is first mentioned in 1398 in connection with a place called “Kopec”. During reconstruction work in the late 1960s and, in particular, the late 1980s, the tower was altered and a zwinger was built.

The nave of the Church of St. Stanislaus in Bošovice contains Gothic remains. The church is a single-nave, oriented building with a rectangular floor plan and a rectangular chancel. Its tower was added in 1851; at the same time, the chancel was extended and an organ was acquired.

The evangelical bell tower in Bošovice was built in 1857 for the evangelical minority.

Nature

Viesgrunty lies about 2 km southwest of Bošovice and preserves steppe flora on southwest- and west-facing slopes. The area has been designated a protected natural monument since 1982.

Vinohrady is a named mountain in the vicinity of Bošovice. The named mountains Nedánov, Urban and Radlovec are also located in the surrounding area.

Leisure

The Papouščí zoological garden in Bošovice is the only one of its kind in the Czech Republic. A total of 200 parrots of 52 species live at the Papouščí zoological garden Bošovice.
