Kučerov: Church, Haná Mud House and Cycling Route

The present-day Church of Saints Peter and Paul in Kučerov was built between 1749 and 1758 to replace an older church that had been destroyed at another location. In the Kučerov parish, the pilgrimage dedicated to Saints Peter and Paul is celebrated on 29 June.

House No. 12 is a Haná-type mud house built predominantly from unfired bricks. It is the only preserved house with a žudr in Kučerov, is open to the public and has been a national cultural monument since 2014. This address therefore brings together a distinctive house type, a preserved building feature and official heritage protection.

The programme of Napoleonské dny 2022 in Kučerov included a period field camp, training and manoeuvres, a Napoleonic battle and a ceremonial parade. The cycling route of the Větrník microregion lists Kučerov’s Baroque statue of Saint John of Nepomuk as a point of interest along the route.

The Hrádek ruins are also located near Kučerov. In the wider regional area are the Kuchlov ruins, Hrad Buchlov Castle and the Pomník obětem 1. světové války monument.

The biocentre on the Rostěnický stream in the cadastral area of Kučerov comprises a larger flowing water pool and four lateral ponds without through-flow. The bodies of water therefore differ both in their position relative to the stream and in the type of water flow.

The Malý Povětrník hill [Bohaté Málkovice] is located in the immediate vicinity of Kučerov. The (Kravský) hill [Bohaté Málkovice] is also located nearby. The Urban and Radlovec mountains are also located in the surroundings of Kučerov.

The landscape can therefore be divided into different spatial levels: the two aforementioned hills are among the nearby destinations, Urban and Radlovec are located in the surrounding area, while Kuchlov, Hrad Buchlov and the Pomník obětem 1. světové války monument belong to the wider regional area.

The Litenčice cycling routes are marked with colours and signposts; the signposts display kilometre distances or pictograms. The combination of colour, kilometre number and symbols provides different information for orientation along the route.
