Hýsly: Hotels and Accommodation
Hýsly lies in the valley of the Moštěnka River, beneath the southwestern foothills of the Chřiby Hills. At the centre is a unique miniature of the solar system – an unusual landmark within the village.
Culture
Saint Procopius is the patron saint of Hýsly. The Chapel of St Procopius was built in 1936. The column with a statue of Saint John of Nepomuk in Hýsly dates from 1706; it commemorates a major flood.
Hýsly Chateau has been closed for a long time and is not in use. A common ash designated as a memorial tree grows in the chateau park.
Places of Interest
The miniature of the solar system in Hýsly includes the world's smallest sundials. They measure 9 × 9 mm. The sundials in Hýsly are 14 × 20 metres in size and are designed to display astronomical time in the municipality of Hýsly. There is also a workout playground in the village square of Hýsly.
Nature
The Stromová kaple offers a magnificent view of the peaks of the Chřiby Hills. Admission to the Rozhledna Súsedská is free for everyone. Access to it is intended to be provided via existing and newly established hiking and cycling trails.
Events
The traditional Hodky festival takes place in Hýsly at the beginning of July. The Svatováclavské krojované hody festival is celebrated in September. Above Hýsly lies a wine cellar lane that is a destination for locals and visitors.
