Vlkoš: Hotels and Accommodation

The Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary was built from 1771 to 1780 on the site of an earlier Gothic church. Its furnishings are predominantly Baroque and include, among other things, wood carvings by Ondřej Schweigl. Church services are held there.

Vlkoš is also home to the Chapel of Saint Florian and the Chapel of Saint John of Nepomuk. The latter stands opposite the former manor farm in Vlkoš. The U tří svatých devotional site is located on the road out of Vlkoš towards Kelčany.

The Military Museum has changing opening hours each week. School classes and other larger groups should arrange their visit individually by telephone at 608 025 233. The exhibits include extensive collections from the Second World War representing all armies, as well as contemporary military exhibitions.

The Búdy complex is a row of 140 wine cellars. It features examples of original folk cellar architecture.

The Moravská vinná stezka passes by the wine cellars of Vlkoš and connects the area around Uherské Hradiště with Znojmo. The Kyjovská vinařská stezka begins at the former mill site in Vlkoš, near a Baroque chapel dating from the second half of the 18th century.

Vlkošské dny vojenských tradic is a two-day event with an attractive Saturday programme and commemorative ceremonies on Sunday. Among the cultural and social wine events organised by Přátelé Achtele is Zarážání hory, which takes place in August.

Bus routes No. 664 from Kyjov to Hodonín, No. 665 from Kyjov to Bzenec and No. 666 from Kyjov to Osvětimany pass through Vlkoš.
