Podomí: Hotels and Accommodation
Podomí was established during the colonization of the region in the 13th century; booking a hotel nevertheless remains an independent decision for your stay.
History
The first written mention of Podomí dates from 1349; at that time, the settlement was called Boda. Podomí was founded as a two-row forest-strip village. The eastern part of the settlement was resettled between 1550 and 1567. In 1803, a weaving and spinning manufactory was established on the Podomí estate.
In memory of the 15 inhabitants of Podomí who fell in the First World War, a sandstone monument was erected in 1921. The monument to those who fell in the First World War was later moved from the crossroads in the village center to the park on the grounds of the new school.
The cadastral area of Podomí contains the vanished settlement of Hamlíkov, approximately 2 kilometers southeast of Podomí. Ten relics have been preserved at this vanished settlement.
Landscape
The Podomka stream divided the original village and its cadastral area into an eastern and a western part. The Podomský potok flows through Podomí and Jedovnice and feeds the Budkovický and Olšovec ponds.
The vanished half of Podomí covers 256 hectares and is three-fifths forested. The so-called Rájecký rybník is located within its area. It is used by people from Podomí, mainly children and young people, for winter games and sport fishing.
Activities
The multifunctional sports field in Podomí is also regularly used by the public for sports and physical exercise. Private individuals, organizations, and groups can rent the multifunctional sports field.
The third stage of the Stezka Blanenskem begins in Podomí. This stage is also suitable for cyclists.
