Rohatec: Hotels and Accommodation

The Váté písky national nature monument lies along the railway line between the Rohatec-Kolonie and Bzenec-Přívoz stations. In addition, the Strážnické Pomoraví Nature Park extends into the cadastral area of Rohatec.

The Vnorovy–Rohatec section of the Baťa Canal can be navigated by canoe, kayak or raft. The cycle path along the Baťa Canal also passes through Rohatec and forms part of a route running from Kroměříž to Skalica. Rohatec is also located on the route of the Moravské vinařské stezky network.

Construction of the Church of St Bartholomew in Rohatec began on 11 September 1911, based on a design by the Brno architect Vladimír Fischer; it was consecrated on 20 October 1912. Its furnishings include a Baroque altar dating from 1716.

The Chapel of St Bartholomew on Slovácká Street preserves the surviving presbytery of a Gothic church from the 14th century. Inside are Baroque statues of St John of Nepomuk and St John Sarkander. The local church in Rohatec also houses richly embroidered chasubles, veils and antependia of particular artistic and ethnographic value.

Rohatec’s documented folk art tradition includes richly carved furniture with Moravian-Slovak ornaments. Rohatec also maintains folk traditions through a children’s folklore ensemble, a men’s choir and a mixed choir.

Bus route 911 connects Rohatec via several stops in the municipality with Hodonín and Veselí nad Moravou.
