History
In 1809, Napoleon directed the battle from an oak tree below Hájek. Purkrábka Forest historically belonged to Znojmo Castle of the junior princes from the Přemyslid dynasty. In Purkrábka Forest are an old hillfort site and urn graves dating from the Hallstatt period.
Culture
The Zvonička in Suchohrdly is registered as a cultural monument dating from 1829. Every year, local residents gather at the Zvonička to light the Christmas tree. The Chapel of Saint Margaret was built in 1829 at the expense of the municipality.
The educational trail “Po památkách Napoleonova působení na Znojemsku” is more a series of independent information panels. In terms of theme, it connects places associated with the stay of Napoleon’s troops in connection with the Battle of Znojmo.
