The purpose of protecting the Vraní vrch natural monument is to preserve xerothermic plant and animal communities on muscovite orthogneiss of the Krhovice Crystalline Complex. Endangered plant species grow on Vraní vrch, including Bohemian star-of-Bethlehem, large-flowered pasqueflower, purple mullein, and feather grass.

Mlýnská strouha branches off from the Dyje at the southwestern edge of Krhovice as an artificial water canal. It is a technical monument and is considered the oldest water-management structure in Moravia.
The first written mention of Mlýnská strouha dates from 1302.
