Vlci Hora: Hotels and Accommodation

Vlčí hora is a 581-metre-high, wooded basalt hill rising on the northern edge of the settlement of the same name. From Vlčí hora, a yellow-marked hiking trail leads directly to the summit with its lookout tower.

Hiking

A red-marked hiking trail leads around Vlčí hora and to the Verunčiny studánky springs, which lie about 400 metres below the summit. The Köglerova naučná stezka was opened in 1941 and reopened in reconstructed form in 2006. It has 39 stops with Czech-German information about the respective locations and is a 23-kilometre circular route starting in Krásná Lípa, which can be walked in either direction.

Culture

The lookout tower on Vlčí hora was officially opened on 19 May 1889. The Dlouhý Důl rural heritage zone comprises Dlouhý Důl, Kyjov, Sněžná and Vlčí Hora; almost all of the buildings form a largely unchanged, cohesive ensemble consisting predominantly of timber-framed Upper Lusatian houses.

Events and Offers

The Svatojánské slavnosti bylin have been held every year since 2004 in the Českého Švýcarska landscape as a summer and midsummer festival in Vlčí Hora. The Svatojánské slavnosti bylin feature workshops, music and food.

The garden of the Nobilis Tilia visitor centre below Vlčí hora is accessible year-round and offers insights into permaculture and biodynamics.
