History
Blízkov was first mentioned in writing in 1298. It is believed that Blízkov may have originated during the great medieval colonisation in the 13th century. The Chapel of Saint John of Nepomuk in Blízkov is a Baroque chapel dating from 1762. The former Mirhart ski jump was built in 1946–1947 as a 22.5-metre-high, five-storey wooden structure. An information board behind Blízkov commemorates this former ski jump.

Exit 134 of the D1 motorway is no more than 3 kilometres from Blízkov. Blízkov is regularly served by public transport as part of the Veřejná doprava Vysočiny system.
