Jimramov: Hotels and Accommodation

Jimramov lies at the confluence of the Fryšávka and Svratka rivers in the Hornosvratecká vrchovina, on the eastern edge of the Žďárské vrchy Protected Landscape Area. The town combines this landscape setting with a historic townscape and several cultural sites closely connected with it.

Culture

The Evangelical Church of Jimramov preserves a church nave built between 1784 and 1786 with early Classicist elements; the Empire-style tower was added between 1883 and 1884. Its furnishings include a high-quality organ, which is used during services and concerts.

The historic centre of Jimramov has been an urban heritage zone since it was designated in 1990. A circular route with 11 stops follows the building façades, where the individual stops are marked. The heritage zone is centred around a long, narrow, funnel-shaped square, lined mostly with houses featuring 19th-century historicist façades.

History

Jimramov Chateau is a Renaissance building that was remodelled in the Classicist style in the 18th century. In 1746, Marie Antonie z Waldorfu had the north wing of the chateau and a covered passage to the oratory of the Catholic church built.

The Síň rodáků (Síň Rodáků jimramovska) presents the life and work of Jan Karafiát, an exhibition about life in the Vysočina region featuring a nativity scene by the local woodcarver Pivoňka, and an exhibition about personalities born in Jimramov.

Nature

Bludník Park is a former English landscape park surrounding the chateau, dating from around 1800; trees from the original arboretum have been preserved. The Otevřeno Festival has been held there since 1990.

The mountains of Librův Kopec, Na jedli and Kočíko are located in the surroundings of Jimramov. Drašarov is a mountain in the wider regional vicinity of Jimramov.
