Líšná is located in the northeastern, mountainous terrain of the Žďár nad Sázavou District. Nearby is Černá skála, an isolated rock formation made of buližník in the forest, about 2 km from Líšná.
Landscape and location
The Vříšť stream, also known as the Fryšávka, flows through the cadastral area of Líšná. Young alluvial deposits covered with grass grow along the banks of the Fryšávka. Líšná includes 211 hectares of forest and 0.74 hectares of utility ponds. The village is located in the Žďárské vrchy Protected Landscape Area, including Zones I, II, and III.
The individual parts of the village differ in their location by the watercourse: Horní Líšná lies on a slope on the left, elevated bank of the Fryšávka, while Dolní Líšná lies in the Fryšávka valley.
Villagescape and history
The houses of Horní Líšná form a loosely arranged village square with a pond. A surviving site plan from 1741 documents the historic village square of Horní Líšná. The first known mention of Líšná dates from 1500.
The historic center of Líšná is part of the main compositional axis of the Fryšávka. Until the end of the previous century, most buildings in Líšná were constructed using timber-block construction. Líšná is also assigned to the folk architecture region of “dům českomoravské vrchoviny – horácký dům.” Historically, Dolní Líšná was home to a manorial hammer mill.
Paths and routes
A blue-marked hiking route runs through Líšná. The marked cycle route 4338 continues from Líšná toward Daňkovice. A section of the “Walk around Sněžné” hiking route leads from Daňkovice to Líšná; there are beautiful views along this section.
