Spělkov: Hotels and Accommodation

Spělkov lies in hilly terrain at an elevation of 610 m. The cadastral area is predominantly forested and interspersed with meadows.

The European-significance site “Údolí Svratky u Krásného” encompasses the cadastral area of Spělkov and is part of the Žďárské vrchy Protected Landscape Area. Near Spělkov lies the 813 m-high Buchtův kopec, which offers beautiful views.

The “Stromová stezka Zpívající lípy” circular trail connects 11 tree stations and is approximately 20 km long. It can be completed on foot in about six hours. The 9 km-long “Za roubenkami údolím Svratky” trail begins in Spělkov’s village square and follows a red-marked cycling route.

Spělkov can be reached by bus along the Via Czechia trail. The village is also connected by bus to Polička on the Bohemian side and to Nové Město na Moravě and Žďár nad Sázavou on the Moravian side.

The origins of Spělkov date back to the 13th century. The oldest known mention of Spělkov dates from 1392. According to the oldest known account, the settlement was founded on the territory of Pernštejn Castle.
