Kamenný Malíkov: Hotels and Accommodation

History and Culture

The founding of Kamenný Malíkov is dated to sometime in the 14th century. The earliest written records date from 1512; at that time, the settlement was called Český Malíkov. An amateur theatre group was already in existence in 1924 and had 25 members in 1932. After 1990, Kamenný Malíkov resumed the tradition of amateur theatre; in winter, the group staged up to four plays. From the mid-19th century, Kamenný Malíkov was also home to mother-of-pearl workers, known as čamrdáři.

Buildings

The Chapel of St. Anne is a small plastered masonry chapel with a square floor plan. It has a tent roof with a polygonal roof turret and dates from around the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries.

The bridge in Kamenný Malíkov spans the Počátecký potok. It is a solid stone single-arch bridge that stands perpendicular to the watercourse and has a roadway on top, as well as walls and wing walls. The stone road bridge dates from the second half of the 19th century. On the eastern side of the bridge, a cast-iron statue of Saint John of Nepomuk stands on a pedestal.
