Kaliště u Humpolce lies on a plateau at an elevation of 601 metres above sea level. From the surrounding area, there are views across the Vysočina and Central Bohemia regions as far as Blaník. The cadastral area of Kaliště forms a watershed between the Želivka and Sázava rivers.

Culture

The existence of the Church of St John the Baptist in Kaliště has been documented since 1350; at that time, it was already a parish church. The present church was built between 1805 and 1812 in the late Baroque style. It contains a valuable stone baptismal font from the 15th century. On the village square in Kaliště, the church is listed in the ÚSKP as an immovable cultural monument.

Music

The FolKaliště festival grounds can be reached from Kaliště via a marked, 1 km-long downhill footpath. The winter circular route Severozápadní okruh z Humpolce kolem Kališť also passes through Kaliště.
