The first written mention of Kletečná dates back to 1226. The archaeological site “intravilán vsi Kletečná” is classified as ÚAN II and covers the period from the Middle Ages to the modern era. It lies on the right bank of the Jankovský potok.

Cycle Route 161 runs through Kletečná. The village is also situated on a green-marked hiking trail that passes through the Šimonice holiday cottage area.
