Bořetice: Hotels and Accommodations

The first written record of Bořetice dates from 1300 and reads “villa Boreticz ad Horzepnik”. In its early history, Bořetice belonged to the archbishop’s domain of Červená Řečice. The historian Václav Žáček was born in Bořetice in 1905, and the parents of Bishop Franz Žak came from Bořetice.

Culture

The chapel in Bořetice was built in the Neo-Gothic style in the second half of the 19th century. Its bell is considerably older than the chapel building. The Bořetice memorial to the victims of the First World War was erected in 1928; photographs of six fallen men are mounted on it.

In the vicinity of Bořetice is Červená Řečice Castle, 5 km to the east. The national cultural monument complex offers guided tours with commentary.

Nature

The Bořetický stream flows along the southeastern edge of Bořetice and is a right-bank tributary of the Trnava.
