The municipal area of Střítež pod Křemešníkem lies near the Pelhřimov–Jihlava road corridor. The 765-metre-high Křemešník mountain rises south of the village.

Nature and Landscape

The Křemešník regional biocentre encompasses the cadastral territory of Střítež pod Křemešníkem and the Křemešník Nature Reserve. Natural forest communities of the summit areas of the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands have been preserved there on more nutrient-rich granite bedrock.

The mountains Putimovský vrch, Špičák, Březina and Přední skála are located in the vicinity of Střítež pod Křemešníkem.

Trails and Activities

The Křemešník educational trail is approximately 3 km long and can be completed on foot in about two hours. It leads around the summit through dense forest and reaches a spring. Křemešník Rope Park has almost 30 obstacles, including a children's park, a junior park and a high-rope course.

History and Culture

The first written mention of Střítež pod Křemešníkem dates from 1379. The former Říhův Mill was the third mill in Střítež pod Křemešníkem and was established at the end of the 18th century. Masopust processions have been documented in Střítež pod Křemešníkem.
