Včelnička can be explored both through a specific cycling trip and through traces of its local and craft history.

Cycling route and landscape

The “Včelnička–Bohdalín” cycling trip runs mostly along a blue-marked hiking trail and uses the paved road from Včelnička to Vodná. In the wider surrounding region, the same cycling trip reaches the 642-metre-high, unforested Ve Vrších mountain; from there, Včelnička can be seen.

Culture and local history

The built-up area of Včelnička is classified as a Category I archaeological area (ÚAN I). The now-closed glassworks building recalls the former fame of Antonín Rückl’s glassworks, which he established in Včelnička in 1875. In 1893, the glassworks was expanded; at the same time, a water-powered grinding shop was established. It specialized in “zlacený granát”, red glass with gold decoration in relief technique, and its products were exported.

On a walk around Včelnička or Kamenice nad Lipou, you may come across picturesque glass spheres and glass spikes decorating the fences of houses and holiday homes. The local history also includes the Včelnička Volunteer Fire Brigade, founded in 1906.

The Chapel of Saint Anne in Včelnička was built in 2021. Its interior contains a cross and an image of Saint Anne. Jan Jiří Rückl was born in Včelnička on 12 May 1900 into a traditional Czech glassmaking family. The blessing of the new Chapel of Saint Anne and its new bell was announced for 24 July 2021 in Včelnička; at the same time, a commemorative plaque for JUDr. Jan Jiří Rückl (1900–1938), who came from Včelnička, was to be unveiled.
