Culture and history
A prominent historical feature in Těmice is the listed, essentially Gothic, single-nave Church of St. John the Evangelist. It has a prismatic tower, later alterations, a rectangular presbytery and a rectangular sacristy, and has been mentioned in historical sources since 1359. A mass is currently celebrated there regularly on Saturdays and is valid for Sunday.
Nature
The Rybníček u Starých Hutí natural monument is located in the Pelhřimov District, in the municipality of Těmice, in the cadastral area of Těmice u Kamenice nad Lipou. It protects preserved natural communities with populations of critically endangered plant and animal species, including in particular round-leaved sundew (Drosera rotundifolia), whorled water-milfoil (Naumburgia thyrsifolia), minnows (Phoxinus phoxinus) and amphibians (Amphibia spp.).
The mountains Orlov, Tlučin, Vrchy and Troják are located in the vicinity of Těmice.
Events and route
The existing local cycle route 321 runs from Kamenice nad Lipou via Těmice to Kámen.
On March 1, 2025, a Masopust festival announced as traditional and revived was held in Těmice: the costumed participants gathered at the cultural center, then the procession passed through the village, followed in the evening by a social gathering at the cultural center. The event was suitable for children.
For the 2026 end-of-summer-holidays celebration announced for August 22, 2026, behind the outdoor swimming pool in Těmice, children's activities, bouncy castles, foam and refreshments were announced; it was intended as a family and children's event.
