Zmišovice: Hotels and Accommodations

At the turn of the 16th and 17th centuries, Zmišovice was the largest village in its historical judicial district, with nine farmsteads.

History and Culture

The historical judicial district of Zmišovice ("rychta") was located in the center of the Červená Řečice estate and was headed by a bailiff. At least one public Catholic confession has been documented for the residents of Zmišovice and Těchoraz since the mid-17th century. The residents of Zmišovice and Těchoraz took their grain to the nearby Pod Hodějovicí Mill.

Červená Řečice Castle is a national cultural monument and features a distinctive Renaissance fortification system. The Želivský Kláštor Monastery is located in the vicinity of Zmišovice. The ruins of Orlík, the Church of Svatá Anna, and the Church of Svatý Jan are also located in the vicinity of Zmišovice.

Landscape

The Trnávka Reservoir is used for recreation and sports. Špičák Mountain, Putimovský vrch Mountain, and Orlov Mountain are located in the vicinity of Zmišovice; Cetoraz Mountain lies in the wider regional surroundings of Zmišovice. In the Želiv Basin landscape, a monastery complex inhabited by Premonstratensians shapes the landscape.

The tourist information center in Červená Řečice provides access to the Church of Máří Magdalény, offers a directory of tourist routes and trails, and can look up bus and train connections. Cycle Route 1218 connects Želiv, Červená Řečice, and Pacov.
