Kehtna Parish can be explored through its bogs, nature trails, historic manor estates, glass culture, and water and winter experiences.

The Mukri Nature Trail is located in the Mukri Nature Reserve. The associated Mukri Bog formed around 10,000 years ago and is considered one of Estonia’s oldest bogs.

An approximately 40-kilometre section of the Oandu–Aegviidu–Ikla hiking route runs through Kehtna Parish. The Paluküla Hiiemägi is a notable landscape feature: it is 106.4 metres above sea level and is the highest point in western Estonia.

What kind of landscape characterizes Kehtna Parish?

Loosalu Bog is considered a classic example of the Estonian bog landscape. The Loosalu–Paluküla Nature Trail passes Loosalu Lake and leads to the foot of Paluküla Hiiemägi.

Which trails suit different hiking days?

What does Kehtna Parish offer culture enthusiasts?

The Järvakandi Glass Center brings together the Järvakandi Glass Museum and the Järvakandi Culture Hall. The Center researches, preserves and presents glassmaking heritage.

The permanent exhibition of the Järvakandi Glass Museum is housed in a 140 m² workers’ house built next to a glassworks founded in 1879.

At the Järvakandi Glass Studio, visitors can try glassblowing by appointment. The studio produces unique glass handicrafts using traditional glassblowing techniques.

The manor complexes also give Kehtna Parish historical depth. Kehtna Manor was founded by the von Vietinghoff family in the 15th century. Ingliste Manor is an 18th-century Baroque ensemble with a single-storey limestone building on the Keila River. Behind the manor is a small park with regularly arranged rows of linden trees.

Keava Linnamägi is a chapel hillfort protected by ramparts and ditches.

What other options are there for water activities, cycling and winter?

Valtu Spordimaja has a 25 × 11-metre swimming pool with four lanes. The small pool there is suitable for children’s swimming lessons and features various water massages.

In winter, Suur Seiklus in PalukĂĽla offers a winter kicksled tour lasting 2 to 3 hours.
