Miusera: Hotels and accommodations

Miusera is closely associated with the Pitsunda–Myussera State Nature Reserve. The unified nature reserve was established in 1966 with three sections, including the area of the Myussera state dachas. It is the only state nature reserve in Abkhazia’s coastal zone. Those wishing to book a hotel in Miusera can continue their accommodation search afterward.

Nature

Visitors need a permit to enter the Pitsunda–Myussera State Nature Reserve. They must also remain on the route agreed with the reserve administration.

The nature reserve is described as featuring relic stands of Pizunda pine and Colchian boxwood, upland oak forest, gorges, and sandy beaches. More than 800 plant species grow there, including 24 rare or endangered species listed in the Red Book. During a stay in the reserve, visitors may encounter Red Book plants, mosses, endemic species, and birdsong.

Beach

The beach of the Mussera guesthouse in Miusera is sandy and covered with fine pebbles; it is located 50 meters from the building. Horse riding is also among the leisure activities associated with the Mussera guesthouse in Miusera.

Culture

The medieval Ambara Church is located in the town of Miusera. Its facade, as well as the stone vaults in the main sanctuary and the side chapels, has been preserved. Researchers date the church to a broad period from the 10th to the 13th century. A striking three-arched opening on the southern facade stands out; it is designed as a canopy and resembles a gable.

History

State Dacha No. 27 was built from 1931 and completed in 1936.
