Saguramo: Hotels and Accommodations

Saguramo combines cultural heritage, a protected forest landscape, trails in Tbilisi National Park, and Georgian wine culture. Those wishing to book a hotel in Saguramo can then continue their accommodation search.

Culture

The Ilia Chavchavadze State Museum in Saguramo is located in the writer’s former ten-room manor house. It preserves manuscripts, newspaper issues, works of art, photographs, furniture, and other historical objects; poetry evenings and cultural festivals are also held there.

The Zedazeni Monastery is located near Saguramo. It preserves a three-nave basilica built at the end of the 8th century and contains the stone sarcophagus of Ioane Zedazneli. The monastery was founded in the 6th century by Ioane, one of the Assyrian Fathers, on the site of a former pagan idol. It is located about seven kilometers from Saguramo on the Saguramo Ridge at an elevation of 1,250 meters.

The hiking trail over the Saguramo Ridge passes the Zedazeni Church, which dates back to the 7th or 8th century. The trail offers views of the landscape.

Nature

The Saguramo Reserve is a forested protected landscape on the Saguramo Ridge and part of Tbilisi National Park. Its documented wildlife includes Caucasian red deer, bears, wolves, jackals, and many bird species.

Trails and Park

Tbilisi National Park has three cycling routes with easy, moderate, and difficult difficulty levels. The trail network also includes a footpath and the Zedazeni–Didveli–Mamkoda riding trail.

The national park has two designated picnic areas, two camping areas, and designated fire pits.

Wine and Cuisine

Toreli Winery in Saguramo produces natural Georgian wine using the traditional qvevri method. Visitors are welcomed there for a Georgian wine tasting accompanied by traditional Georgian cuisine.

Toreli Winery also offers wine tastings, Georgian cuisine, and wine sales.
