History

West of Bikács, Belső-sziget lies between the Sió and the Sárvíz. The site of a former fortified structure is located there, on a former river branch that is generally dry today.

Archaeological fieldwork on and around the hill of Belső-sziget uncovered brick and stone fragments, pottery from the Árpád era, and fragments of animal bones. The findings provide travellers interested in specific traces of cultural history with a documented connection to Bikács.
