The Piliuonos botaninis-zoologinis draustinis protected area near Piliuona. Culture and History
The Guogų–Piliuonos hillfort is located on the edge of the uplands on the left bank of the Nemunas, between Guogai and Piliuona. It dates from the 1st millennium to the beginning of the 2nd millennium. The hillfort’s rampart was raised several times and its area expanded; remains of double wooden defensive walls were found along the edges.
The Piliuonos koplyÄŤia chapel is located inside a building on the first floor. It is a cozy and modern space for prayer and spiritual reflection; its surroundings are suitable for both locals and visitors. The Birthday of Venus, an installation from 2022, is also located on a water tower in Piliuona.
