Jonava: Hotels and accommodation

History and culture

The present-day Church of St. James the Apostle in Jonava was built in 1791 and consecrated in 1793 in the name of its founder, Bishop Juozapas Kazimieras Kosakovskis. The remains of members of the Kosakovski family rest in the church crypt.

The building complex of the old horse post station in Jonava was built between 1833 and 1835. The Jonava Regional Museum opened in the old horse post station in 1992. Its basement houses a permanent archaeological exhibition. The Jewish cemetery in Jonava was restored in 1989.

Water and paths

There are four ponds in Jonava – Joninių, Lakštingalų, Gulbių and Gervių. Cycling and walking paths run around them, and there are also children's playgrounds and beaches. Along the banks of the Neris in Jonava, there are walking and cycling paths for strolling and enjoying views of the river.

Leisure activities

The Jonava disc golf park has approximately 18 baskets and throwing areas in the Joninių Valley and around the Joninių Pond; residents and visitors can use it free of charge.

The Jonavos Slidinėjimo centras ski centre has lifts and four shaped downhill configurations. The ski centre offers skiing, equipment rental and ski instructor services.

Other destinations include Kulautuva, Piliuona, Karmėlava, Šiluva, Kaišiadorys, Gabšiai, Ramučiai and Ringaudai.
