Location and landscape
Juodkrantė is located approximately in the middle of the Lithuanian side of the Curonian Spit on regional road KK 167 between Klaipėda and Zelenogradsk. Several hills are located in the surrounding area: Raganų Kalnas, Levos Kalnas and Kalnas Lapnugaris. The island of Sala Kiaulės Nugara is also located near Juodkrantė.
Culture
Since 1979, Raganų Kalnas, also known as Witch Mountain, has been home to numerous wooden sculptures depicting Lithuanian fairy tales. Attractions in Juodkrantė include a sculpture park on the lagoon, a renovated Protestant church, a cemetery, listed residential buildings and traditional wooden villas.
In the wider regional surroundings of Juodkrantė are the Karvaičiai ruins and the Memel Lutheran Church (historical), a historic church.
