The Ventės Ragas Station is an important center for environmental education in the coastal and lagoon area.
History
The station was founded in 1929 on the initiative of Professor T. Ivanauskas. From 1929 to 2006, the staff of this ornithological station, together with volunteers, banded almost two million birds.

Karvaičiai, a site recorded as a ruin, is located in the vicinity of Ventė. Zingelinės Sala, an island, is located near Ventė. Vito Sala, Triušių Sala, and Ostrov Severnyy are also located in the vicinity of Ventė; all three are islands.
