Telšiai: Hotels and accommodations

Culture

The sculpture park of the Telšiai Faculty of the Vilnius Academy of Arts was founded on the shore of Lake Mastis on October 21, 2011. The sculpture park displays 21 sculptures. Tastings of DŽIUGAS® cheese are offered at the DŽIUGAS Cheese House at Respublikos g. 49-7 in Telšiai.

At the Žemaitian Museum “Alka,” the historical exhibition presents the material and spiritual culture of the Žemaitija region. The museum offers guided tours and educational activities that can be booked. The Telšiai Yeshiva is located in the historic Jewish higher school of Telšiai. Drawing on the memories of Holocaust survivors, it tells the story of the yeshiva and the Jewish population of Telšiai. The Telšiai Yeshiva also offers educational programs on the Jewish history of Lithuania, Litvak culture, Jewish traditions, and Jewish everyday life.

The Žemaitian Village Museum comprises 16 authentic buildings. There, visitors can learn traditional weaving on old looms, make toys, and felt wool. The Bear Museum in Telšiai contains more than 5,837 bears and teddy bears made of different materials and in various sizes and shapes.

Nature

There is a network of walking and cycling paths along the shore of Lake Mastis. Zakso Hill, also called Zakso Mountain, is located on the shore of Lake Mastis.

Cycling

The “Aplink Telšių miestą dviračiais” route is an easy 14 km bicycle tour. It leads to one of the most beautiful educational trails in the Germantas Landscape Reserve in Telšiai District.
