What makes the castle worth seeing?
The castle, also known as “Mały Wawel,” has three wings and four corner towers. Two-storey arcades facing the courtyard run along the south and west wings. Its construction took place in several stages: between 1554 and 1580, a timber-and-stone fortified residence was first built. Between 1608 and 1614, Piotr Komorowski expanded it into a representative Renaissance magnate residence. Today, the municipal museum has been based in the castle since 2007.
The castle and park complex also offers a place to take a break and play: visitors can use two portable chess sets there, one traditional and one for three players.
