Idzików is a linear settlement along the lower course of the Biała Woda stream, on the border of the Krowiarki and Idzików Upland areas, at an elevation of approximately 400 to 550 metres above sea level.

History and Culture

Idzików was established in the late 13th century during the medieval colonisation of the foothill areas of the Kłodzko Valley by German-speaking settlers.

The first surviving mention of the place, then called Kieslingswald, and of its parish dates from 1344.

The opening of the Czarna Góra ski centre in the surrounding area was associated with an increase in Idzików’s tourist significance.

The economic heritage of the 19th century included a Catholic school, four watermills, an oil mill, a sawmill, a weaving mill with a fulling facility, a distillery and a limestone quarry.
