Satu Mare between Culture, Riverside and Events

In Satu Mare, the concert hall of the Dinu Lipatti State Philharmonic is located in a wing of Hotel Dacia, which was built in 1902 in the Secession style.

Culture

The present-day building of the Satu Mare County Museum was built in 1936 according to plans by the architect G.P. Liteanu. The permanent exhibition “People – Destinies – History” at the Satu Mare County Museum spans the period from prehistory to the present day. The Satu Mare Art Museum is housed in the neo-Gothic Casa Vécsey. Biserica cu Lanțuri is the largest Reformed church in Satu Mare. The building of Teatrul de Nord Satu Mare was constructed in the neoclassical style and inaugurated in 1892. Turnul Pompierilor was renovated in 2005. In the city centre of Satu Mare, there is a commemorative plaque marking the signing of the Peace of Satu Mare. By the Water and in Leisure Time

On the right bank of the Someș, two pontoons in the recreational area provide access to the water, including for kayak training. Teatrul de Nord Satu Mare stages performances by its Romanian and Hungarian sections throughout the year. TransitFest is considered an annual one-week theatre festival in Satu Mare. The “Dinu Lipatti” State Philharmonic holds classical concerts throughout the year. Târgul de Mărțișoare takes place in Satu Mare at the beginning of March with the participation of local artisans and producers. Samfest Jazz&Wine combines a jazz festival held in June with a selection of local wines. For planning purposes, these dates can be categorised into year-round programmes, the one-week festival and the periods at the beginning of March or in June.
