Pinosava

At the foot of Avala, Pinosava lies on a slope and stretches northwestward.

The protected Avala nature area includes part of the cadastral territory of Pinosava; this portion accounts for 1.0% of the protected area’s total surface.

From Slavija, take bus 33 or trams 9, 10 and 14 to Trošarina. From there, bus lines 400, 401, 402, 403, 405, 407 and 408 run to Pinosava. This connection therefore provides a concrete point of reference when planning the location of your stay.

More than four-fifths of the Avala protected area is forested. The forests consist predominantly of deciduous trees and partly of conifers. At the same time, the area provides a habitat for many plant and animal species in Serbia. For nature enthusiasts, this means there is a clearly defined landscape area that differs from the cultural sites in the village.

There are several well-developed and signposted excursion and hiking trails on Avala. The trails are located on Avala; no specific distance from Pinosava or walking time is given.

The Church of Saint Mark the Apostle stands in the courtyard of the old school in Pinosava. The school building was constructed in 1907 through the voluntary work of the villagers. Regular services have been held in the Church of Saint Mark since the first liturgy in 2005.

The old bell tower of Pinosava is also part of the historic appearance of the village. It was built in 1925 and restored in 2024. On May 9, 2026, Pinosava hosted the fourth edition of the “Markovdanski Susreti” folklore festival. The date is in the past and is therefore not a future event date.

Another special feature is the “Aleksandar” equestrian club in Pinosava. For years, it organized therapeutic horse riding in cooperation with the Municipality of Voždovac for sick children and children with developmental disabilities.
