Which historic sites and collections shape the townscape?
The present-day building of the town library, the old Kursulić House, is designated as a cultural monument because of its historical and cultural value. It is protected by the Institute for the Protection of Cultural Monuments in Kraljevo and has been listed in the register of immovable cultural heritage since 1981. Kuća Kursulića is also relevant for understanding the architecture: it is one of the first buildings constructed in the style of Central European bourgeois architecture, modeled on houses in cities beyond the Sava and the Danube.
Individual memorial sites also focus on different aspects. The statue of Archbishop Danilo II stands in the square in front of the Cultural Center and cinema.
What events and cultural offerings are there?
Since 2000, the “Stefan Prvovenčani” award has been presented at the Raške Spiritual Festivities for an outstanding contribution to Serbian culture. The first part of the program consists of the international artists’ colony “Akademija Jelena Anžujska”. The main event program then begins from August 15 to 19 with the opening of an exhibition of works created in the artists’ colony.
The Raška cinema also offers a classic cultural program. It is located in the Cultural Center on Predraga Vilimonovića Street and shows the latest films in digital and 3D formats for adults and children. Thus, the documented offerings cover both historical and artistic topics as well as regular film screenings.

When was Kameni most built?
Kameni most over the Ibar was built from 1893 to 1895. It was constructed at the site of an earlier ferry crossing. During the occupation attack of 1915, it was partially destroyed and was not restored to its original condition until 1925.
What does the memorial room “Raška – ratna prestonica Kraljevine Srbije 1915” show?
A separate section is dedicated to Milunka Savić; it displays reprints of her photographs, her awards, personal items and the uniform in which she fought. The memorial room is located in the building of the “Gradac” Center for Culture, Education and Information in Raška.

The traditional “Vašar u Raški” is one of Serbia’s oldest fairs. The first organized fair took place in 1860. On this day, visitors can sample the exhibitors’ gastronomic specialties and buy homemade products.
