Discover Kosjerić

Northwest of Kosjerić, Mount Povlen rises to 1,347 meters, while to the northeast, Mount Kozomor reaches an elevation of 1,007 meters. The municipality is located on the M21, which connects Novi Sad, Šabac and Požega with the border with Montenegro. The strategic Belgrade–Valjevo–Kosjerić–Požega road connection also runs through the municipality. By rail, the Subotica–Belgrade–Bar line connects Kosjerić directly with the Adriatic coast.

Taorska Vrela is a distinct natural attraction, a natural monument at the foot of Mount Povlen. There, water flowing over limestone basins creates a 4.5-meter-high waterfall. The site thus combines a clearly identified geological feature with the mountain landscape around Kosjerić.

Three trails of different lengths have been documented for hiking. The Kosjerić–Divčibare trail crosses 1,096-meter-high Crni vrh and is 18 kilometers long. The 13-kilometer Čika Veljina staza trail runs from Olimpijska česma via Brdo Grad to Seča Reka. The shorter option is the six-kilometer Kosjerić–Crnokosa educational hiking trail. In Kosjerić and its green surroundings, sport fishing, mountain hiking and paragliding are also among the sports and leisure activities.

The National Library in Kosjerić has a permanent exhibition established as a bequest from Liza Marić-Križanić. It includes 53 paintings as well as other documents and items from her estate. Alongside the landscape experiences, this provides a specific cultural point of interest in the town.

Another special feature is the Čobanski dani event. It takes place every year in Kosjerić and is organized as a cultural and tourism event. The content presented includes old Serbian singing, handicrafts, traditional dishes and shepherds’ sports games. The program also includes exhibitions, the sale of souvenirs, entertainment for children, poetry and music evenings, and concerts.

The road and rail connections are a specific factor when assessing Kosjerić as a place to stay. Zlatne ruke has taken place every year on June 28 since 1982. The event is intended to revive traditional Serbian dishes and their original preparation methods.

What is there to see in Seča Reka?

In Seča Reka, seven kilometers from Kosjerić, there is a log church dedicated to Saint George. Its present appearance dates from 1812.
