Dolné Naštice lies on a gentle slope at an elevation of 205 m. The elevations within the municipality range from 187 to 275 m. At the same time, the village is located in a spur of the Bánovce loess hills in the Nitra region, specifically on the left floodplain of the Bebrava. The elevation, hilly landscape and river area therefore shape the geographical character of the village.

Landscape

The Bebrava River crosses the municipal area of Dolné Naštice for a length of 2.4 km, flowing from north to south. The river area is closely connected spatially with the left floodplain, on which Dolné Naštice lies.

Culture

In front of the church, the monument to those who fell in the First World War commemorates 16 residents of Dolné Naštice who died in the war. At a road junction in the direction of Biskupice, the Chapel of Our Lady of Lourdes is preserved. The chapel is a single-nave pseudo-Romanesque building from the second half of the 19th century, with a semicircular apse and an integrated turret. A wooden cross has also been preserved by the Bebrava River to this day.

The Catholic choir of Dolné Naštice is also part of the village’s cultural heritage: it sings at Holy Masses in Dolné Naštice.

Several mountains are located around Dolné Naštice. These include Široký Vrch, Kruhy, Kostolnica and Kňazný Stôl. Each of these four mountains is situated in the surroundings of Dolné Naštice. In the wider regional area, there are also the ruins of Tematín Castle, Hrušov and Zřícenina ruinice, as well as Zámok Svätý Ján Castle.

Transport Connections

By road, Dolné Naštice is connected to Route I/50 between Trenčín, Bánovce nad Bebravou and Prievidza. A second-class road also runs through the village towards Bánovce nad Bebravou and Žabokreky nad Nitrou. This road provides a connection to Route I/64 between Prievidza, Topoľčany and Nitra. A railway station is located on the western side of Dolné Naštice, with connections to Topoľčany, Trenčín and Trenčianska Teplá. Travel to the area is therefore possible via both the aforementioned road connections and the railway service to the stated destinations.
