The entrance hall and interior of the church preserve the original stone paving. The church also preserves original wall plaster and paintings; possible paintings beneath the whitewash are protected.

The Church of St. Thomas (Cerkev sv. Tomaža) has a bell dating from 1736, made by the bell founder Jožef Samassa from Ljubljana. The church is notable for its isolated location. The Šuštarjeva kašča granary is listed as a cultural monument under EŠD 25915 and is protected for its floor plan and stone construction. The Miklavova domačija homestead is listed in the Slovenian cultural heritage inventory as built heritage under EŠD 27138.

The White Carniola Cycling Route leads to Tanča Gora via a turnoff and climbs into the village over approximately 2 km. The route is physically demanding and includes a V3-difficulty ascent and an S3-difficulty descent.

Also on 3 June 2016, the bug orchid (Orchis coriophora) was recorded in Tanča Gora, 80 m southeast of St. Thomas’s Church, at an altitude of 238 m above sea level.
