Gradišče: Hotel, Svarunova pot and prehistoric archaeological site
The Gradišče archaeological site is a large prehistoric hillfort with defensive ramparts, ditches and terraces. It includes two associated burial grounds; the barrow cemetery comprises approximately 40 burial mounds.
Nature
The Svarunova pot circular trail passes through Gradišče. At 23 kilometres long and taking approximately five hours, it provides a clear framework for planning the day. Along the Svarunova pot, there are 33 interpretive panels and information telephones covering natural, cultural and historical attractions. The route is therefore associated with specific information on three different subject areas, without this changing its length or duration. From Gradišče, it is possible to return by bus.
An organised hiking day on the Svarunova pot has traditionally been held for 24 years on Slovenian Statehood Day, 25 June.
History and Culture
The old village centre of Gradišče lies at the southern foot of Brzek Hill. Gradišče is home to the church “Gradišče nad Pijavo Gorico - Cerkev sv. Primoža in Felicijana”. It is listed as built heritage under EŠD 2720. The older of the church tower’s two bells bears an inscription with the year 1767. A Romanesque window was discovered in the southern wall of the church in 1955. It was first mentioned in a visitation in 1632; it was Baroque-modified in the 17th century.
The local built heritage also includes the Chapel of the Mother of God. It was built in 1903 and is listed as built heritage under EŠD 17264. The chapel contains a statue of the Virgin Mary described as folk art, locally known as “Ave Marija”.
Accommodation
For accommodation planning in Gradišče, you can view and compare hotel offers. Also pay attention to the included services, individual price components, and the booking and cancellation conditions. Read these points separately for each offer so that differences in scope and conditions remain visible. An initially lower price should also be considered in the context of the included services and separately itemised costs. The terms shown on the offer page are decisive. Check whether taxes, fees or other price components are listed separately and which services are actually included in the total price. In the booking and cancellation conditions, deadlines, possible refunds and exclusions should be clearly distinguished from one another. If these fields are reviewed for each offer in the same order, differences in the price scope and conditions remain comprehensible, without a single price determining the entire assessment. Also compare which services are included and which price components appear separately. The information on location, occupancy, services, prices, and booking and cancellation conditions should clearly refer to the respective offer before you compare the terms.
