Šmihel pod Nanosom – Hotels Between Cultural Heritage and Karst Landscape

Šmihel pod Nanosom is a linear village. South of the village, the Church of St. George stands on a small hill. It was first mentioned around 1665; its present form dates from the 17th century, when it was rebuilt. Archaeological excavations in the church in 2007 uncovered several pieces of prehistoric pottery, a fragment of a Roman amphora, concealed murals and the foundations of an older church.
