The Tolmin Gorges near Kamno are the southernmost entrance to Triglav National Park. Around Kamno, nature, trails, cultural heritage and an agricultural business come together with clearly identified local references.

Culture

Different types of cultural heritage stand side by side in the village. The First World War military cemetery in Kamno is classified as memorial and garden-architectural heritage. At the turnoff for the trail to Vrsno in Kamno stands a marker classified as built heritage; another marker classified as built heritage is located in Kamno's village square. The church in Kamno was consecrated on 2 July 1892. The local history thus combines a memorial site, two markers classified as built heritage and a religious building.

Nature

The visitor trails in the Tolmin Gorges near Kamno were laid out between 1953 and 1958. They run along the Tolminka to a warm spring and along the Zadlaščica to Medvedova glava. The names of the two rivers remain part of the route, making the two directions distinguishable.

The trail from Selce to the Brinta Waterfall takes about 20 minutes, with a moderate descent, and is suitable for experienced mountain hikers. The trail from Selce to the Gregorčič Waterfall takes just under an hour. In addition to the gorges, there are therefore two differently designed trails to named waterfalls, with clearly different time frames.

Water and Trails

The connections by land and water follow different routes. A cycling route follows the left bank of the Soča through Kamno and Volarje towards Tolmin. A mini-rafting course runs between Kamno and Tolmin. In addition, one section on the Soča runs from Kamno to Tolmin. A tour on the Soča begins in Kobarid and ends in Kamno. The directions are each based on the named places and river sections.

Local

The local connection is not limited to trails and buildings. Eko Kmetija Gabršček is a family-run organic farm from Kamno. It is also a food supplier at Kamno 49, 5220 Tolmin. Thus, alongside the natural and cultural destinations, a clearly identified agricultural business with a local address is also part of the village.
