Poland is a country that has not yet fully realized their world tour opportunities. That is why now Poland is positioned as one of the most attractive new tourist regions. Poland is a very diverse country. From the virgin nature along the long sandy shores of the Baltic Sea, the romantic lakes and river landscapes, endless forests which stretch for hundreds of kilometers of mountain ranges to the active cities with interesting cultural monuments and numerous attractions. With all this magnificence, the new EU country offers tours at reasonable prices. Polish Baltic is popular among the tourists from Germany, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Russia (Kaliningrad region primarily) and Belarus.
There are 5 major geographical regions in Poland (please do not confuse with the 16 Polish administrative regions, provinces). The Baltic Sea coast, which stretches from Pomerania to the Gulf of Gdańsk, has a large number of spits, inland waters and dunes. Central European lowland with 4 major Polish necklaces of lakes (Mazury necklace of Lakes, Kashubish necklace, Pomeranian and Great polish necklace) unites the north and centre of the country the lands near the Baltic Sea. Then begin large ancient river valleys of Mazovia and Silesia. In the south of Poland there are the Polish mountains: wooded Carpathians, Sudetenland and the highest mountain range in Poland, Tatra Mountains.
The largest Polish cities are: the capital Warsaw, Gdansk, Krakow, Szczecin, Bielostok. Each of them is unique and inimitable; each has its unique atmosphere. The most popular among the tourists are Krakow as the former capital of Rzeczpospolita, which preserved many ancient architectural monuments; Gdansk agglomeration with its three components, the Port of Gdansk, Gdynia and the resort town of Sopot; and, of course, the capital Warsaw. Bielostok, located on the border of the EU and Belarus, is now considered to be one of the most important cities of motoring, which regularly transits thousands of tourists and tons of cargo to the east and west.
